GLOBAL ONE NEWS (G1) — When a Taiwanese woman felt severe pain in her eye, she thought it was just a mild infection.
It turns out a buzzing discovery in her eye almost blinded her forever.
A doctor at Fooyin University Hospital was shocked when the woman — identified by surname He — was found to have bees in her eye.
The BBC reported Dr. Hong Chi Ting carefully extracted four sweat bees — each about 4mm in size — from inside He’s eye.
The woman suspected the bees were blown into her eye when she was visiting the grave of a family member.
He is expected to make a full recovery.
Sweat bees are attracted to human perspiration.
Dr. Hong said if it took longer before He admitted herself, it would force him “to take her eyeball out to save her life.”
