GLOBAL ONE NEWS (G1) — Imagine if you could feel almost no pain. Sound too good to be true, right?

Not for 71-year-old Jo Cameron. According to reports Cameron has never taken painkillers after seeing the dentist and can eat spicy food without any discomfort.

A few years ago the Scottish woman sought treatment for a hip problem.

Doctors were surprised to find she experienced no pain despite severe joint degeneration.

Cameron then had an operation on her hands — and felt no pain.

CNN says her doctors started to look into her lack of pain sensitivity after that.

In a study published on March 28, researchers found Cameron’s lack of pain sensitivity is due to genetics.

They found it was caused by a mutation in a previously unidentified gene. One of the researchers involved says the study could help when it comes to creating a more effective painkiller.

So, how’d you like to be in Cameron’s shoes?
