Global One (G1)— A new survey report has revealed Singapore, Hong Kong and Paris are this year’s most expensive cities in the world.
The annual report by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) noted it is the first time the three cities shared the top spot following Singapore’s five-year reign.
Switzerland’s Zurich and Geneva placed fourth and fifth in the top 10 list, while Osaka, Japan also landed on the fifth spot.
Seoul, Copenhagen and New York all ranked seventh, while Tel Aviv and Los Angeles came at the 10th spot.
EIU surveyed 133 cities and compared the cost of over 150 items – which included food, transport and bills.
The index is reportedly aimed at providing insights to travel companies and expatriates about the cost-of-living expenses in the following cities.
While Asia remains the continent with the most expensive cities, six of the top 10 cheapest cities in the world are there, too.
