Global One News (G1) – “This is Jeopardy!”
If you know the show — then you know the famed jingle.
Then you most definitely know Jeopardy’s host of more than 30 years, Alex Trebek.
On Wednesday, March 6, Trebek released this video to announce he has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
[Alex Trebek]: “Now normally the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but I’m gonna fight this and I’m going to keep working.”
According to the Mayo Clinic, pancreatic cancer is rarely caught early and includes symptoms of upper abdominal pain that radiates to the back.
Pancreatic cancer has a five-year survival rate of 7% and the 78-year-old TV host says he plans to beat the disease.
Last year, Trebek suggested he would retire in 2020, but he ended up renewing his hosting contract through 2022.
[Alex Trebek]:“I have to host Jeopardy for three more years so help me keep the faith and we’ll win!”
We’re all praying for ya Alex!
