Global One (G1)— Many people take the board game Monopoly very seriously, but one family in Kansas recently took their dedication to another level.
Police had to be called to a home in Kansas City after a fight over the game got so out of hand, one victim was shoved into a mirror and required stitches.
It’s unclear what the argument was about but the incident reportedly happened between cousins.
The suspect reportedly fled before police arrived on scene.
It wasn’t the first fight over the game.
Arguments over the game are so frequent that Hasbro, Monopoly’s parent company, once set up a hotline to mediate disputes.
At the time, its marketing director said there would be “experts on hand with the official rulebooks to instantly settle any disputes, and advise on how to resolve common complaints.”
The hotline is reportedly now defunct, but it looks like they may need to resume service.
