GLOBAL ONE NEWS (G1) — A Canadian actor of Indian descent has recently drawn criticism on social media with trolls accusing him of selling his nationalism.
In a recently resurfaced video, actor Akshay Kumar said, “My films do the best business in Pakistan. The amount of love I get from the country, I hardly get that kind of love from anywhere else.”
Internet trolls have said Kumar has divided loyalty to different countries.
Kumar has starred in several Bollywood movies patriotic themes.
In a separate video, the 51-year-old actor was seen exclaiming, “This is my home. Toronto is my home.”
The videos have divided Kumar’s supporters.
One said, “Akshay Kumar is a global citizen of next level: He lives in Canada, gets love from Pakistan and sells nationalism in India.”
Others, however, have pointed to his large contributions to Army families.
