GLOBAL ONE NEWS (G1) — Hundreds of taco lovers have lined up in Bangkok as the American food chain Taco Bell opened its first ever restaurant there.

Hundreds stormed the new restaurant — located in the busy Pathum Wan district — on its grand opening Jan. 24.

Some had such a craving for tacos they had lined up as early 10 p.m. the night before.

The first in line was an American student and a taco loyalist who didn’t sleep and even brought a chair for the waiting game.

He said, “It was absolutely worth the wait.”

Another said, “I think it may taste better than Thai food.”

However, for some Thais who haven’t tasted tacos before, it reportedly tastes “a little weird.”

Bloomberg has previously reported Taco Bell plans to launch 40 restaurants in the Southeast Asian country.
