GL0BAL ONE NEWS — Singapore authorities are looking for a man believed to have leaked online its HIV registry.
Singapore’s Ministry of Health said Monday, Jan. 28, American Mikhy Farrera Brochez recently leaked personal information of over 14,000 Singaporeans and foreigners living with HIV.
The names, phone numbers, addresses and other private information of 5,400 HIV-positive Singaporeans and 8,800 HIV-positive foreigners were uploaded online.
Authorities said Brochez lived in Singapore from 2008 until he was deported in 2018. Brochez is also HIV-positive.
Brochez was reportedly involved in numerous drug-related and fraud offenses during the time he was living in the city-state.
Authorities believe Brochez could have accessed the files through his Singaporean partner, Ler Teck Siang, who used to work as a senior doctor under the Ministry of Health.
The ministry said, “We are sorry for the anxiety and distress caused by this incident. Our priority is the well-being of the affected individuals.”
