Global One (G1)— President Donald Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen has been sentenced to three years in prison.

He was convicted of lying to Congress about the president’s business dealings with Russia, tax evasion and breaking campaign finance laws.

It’s reportedly the longest sentence for anyone formerly connected to the president.

Cohen had pleaded guilty and said his blind loyalty to Trump had led him to choose “darkness over light.”

He also said while Trump blasted him on Twitter for being weak, he said, “it was because time and time again I felt it was my duty to cover up his dirty deeds.”

The sentencing judge praised the decision to admit guilt, but said it “does not wipe the slate clean.”

Two of Cohen’s more infamous charges stemmed from alleged payments he made to silence women believed to have had affairs with Trump.

Cohen — who has to report to prison by March 6 — has also been ordered to pay almost $2 million in restitution, forfeiture and fines.
