GLOBAL ONE NEWS (G1)—We’ve all seen those viral videos where police use their bodycams to record the crazy encounters they experience daily.

Well now, civilians can record their own experiences — good or bad— with police using the new Shortcut feature of the iOS 12 update.

Reddit user Robert Peterson created his own shortcut for Siri called Police allowing users to give a simple voice command and begin recording their encounter.

If a user says something like, “Hey Siri, I’m getting pulled over,” the front-facing camera on the iPhone will start recording.

It can also put the phone on “Do Not Disturb” mode and send a text message to a pre-selected recipient informing them you’ve been pulled over, even providing your current location.

In an interview with Business Insider about creating the shortcut, Peterson said, “It seemed to me that if you’re getting pulled over it couldn’t hurt to have a recording of the incident.”
