UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) – Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte plans to speak “straight from the heart” during this year’s State of the Nation Address.
In a palace news briefing on Thursday, July 5, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, said Duterte’s economic managers will conduct their own briefings prior to the SONA, to give Duterete more time to express his personal sentiment on July 23.
The palace said cabinet clusters will start to discuss their respective policies, programs and projects, implemented during Duterte’s second year in office, on Friday.
Roque said the change was made so Duterte can focus on his people, instead of giving an achievement report like he has done for the last two years.
According to Roque, Duterte will still work with a speechwriter. However, he is known for straying away from prepared speeches.
