UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — Former U.S. President George H.W. Bush has been discharged from the hospital after being treated for low blood pressure.
The 93-year-old was hospitalized on May 27, just a few days after he arrived at his summer home in Kennebunkport, Maine.
Bush family spokesman Jim McGrath tweeted that the 41st president was released from the hospital on June 4, adding that Bush “is deeply appreciative both for the terrific care and the many good wishes he has received.”
While in the hospital, Bush tweeted a photo of himself reading a book about his marriage to his late wife, former first lady Barbara Bush, which was co-written by his granddaughter.
Bush has been in and out of the hospital in recent years to deal with different health problems. He was hospitalized in Texas in April — the day after his wife’s funeral — and treated for a blood infection.
