UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — Philippine Airlines has been awarded a 4-star rating from international air transport rating organization, Skytrax.
The announcement came in early February and PAL became the first Philippine airline to receive the honor.
The London-based Skytrax is known for their rating systems to determine the quality of air transportation for multiple airlines.
During their audit of Philippine Airlines, Skytrax looked at the airline’s inflight and ground service for flights.
The rating also considered enhancements to the passenger experience.
Currently, Philippine Airlines has the largest fleet of planes for any commercial air transportation service in the country with 88 planes.
After receiving the rating, PAL Chairman and CEO Dr. Lucio C. Tan said, “Our achievement is the country’s achievement and we share this with all Filipinos around the globe.”
